don’t you think todd mcfarlane is a bad story teller because he made spider-man comic books so dark?
Todd McFarlane was a great, innovative artist. I’m old enough to remember his runs on Incredible Hulk and the Spider-Man titles. He really created a stir back then with his original art style.
However, as a writer, I always felt he left something to be desired.
The only time he made Spider-Man “dark” (not the character himself but the storylines) was during his run on the title Spider-Man when he was both writer and artist. When he drew Amazing Spider-Man, Dave Micheline was the writer. Some of his stories were “dark” (the introduction of Venom for one) but others weren’t.
Bottom-line: Good artist, so-so writer.
